Decades after laying down licks for Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, Ry Cooder remains unobtrusively prolific as a slide guitarist and an album producer. His work with Buena Vista Social Club and Ali Farka Touré has added Grammy Awards to his shelf, while collaborations with The Rolling Stones, Lowell George, Van Morrison and Judy Collins stand out on his musical resume. Cooder is touring with legendary husband and wife musicians Ricky Skaggs and Sharon White, bringing an inimitable genre mash-up to the stage.

Friday 8/21. $48.50-88.50, 8pm. The Paramount Theater, 215 E. Main St., Downtown Mall. 979-1333.
