For an album as big as Cardboard Wings—the first album from local band Birdlips, filled with flocks of scattershot drums, gleaming guitar lines and melodies that flutter up only to dive back down again—it's amazing to see songs recreated by only two members, singer/guitarist Cliff Usher and singer/keyboardist Lindsay Pitts.
Birdlips is one of the first acts we wanted to bring into C-VILLE for the Feedback Sessions, and Usher and Pitts were kind enough to oblige us last week. What's more, they brought in a few props and turned the C-VILLE office into their own musical aviary, then ran through the excellent "Dream Within a Dream" and a couple unreleased songs. Watch the Birdlips Feedback Session below.
Next up for the Feedback Sessions? Leave your nominations below! And don't forget to catch Birdlips on Saturday at PVCC with Trees on Fire, $5, 7:30pm. Rock together, flock together.
