The Virginia State Police held a press conference this morning to go over the timeline of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington disappearance.

“Nothing is too trivial,” said Lt. Joe Rader during the press conference. The purpose of the press conference was to give out the timeline in the hopes that those who may have seen Harrington will come forward.

Between 8:20pm and 9:30pm, someone matching the description of Harrington was seen at several locations near the John Paul Jones Arena (JPJ).

Harrington disappeared on Saturday, October 17, the night the arena hosted the Metallica concert. Rader said UVA Police, Albemarle Police, Charlottesville Police as well as the FBI, among others, are involved in the search.

Rader said that they believe that between 8:30pm and 8:48pm Harrington interacted and conversed with people outside of the arena.

At 8:48pm it is confirmed that Harrington had a conversation with a friend. As reported before, Harrington stated she would try to find a ride home from friends in Charlottesville.

Between 8:48pm and 9pm, there are witnesses who can place Harrington outside JPJ.

Between 9pm and 9:10pm, Harrington or someone matching Harrington’s description was seen walking, with a black purse, through the University Hall parking lot. Rader said it did not appear she was walking with someone.

Between 9:10pm and 9:20om, Harrington or someone matching Harrington’s description was seen at the Lannigan Field, close to the track, where her purse was found in the grassy area of the parking lot.

It is believed that Harrington or someone matching her description was seen at the intersection of Ivy and Copley roads.

Harrington’s family has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to her return. Metallica added $50,000.

Morgan Dana Harrington disappeared on October 17. According to a timeline released by Virginia State Police, Harrington or someone matching her description was seen outside the John Paul Jones Arena and walking towards the Copeley Bridge.

There is something going on here. She must have gone out to meet people with weed or something and get smoked up. She didn't know she could not get back into the arena after leaving...but at every concert I have ever been to, the door security tell you that if you choose to leave, and there are usually signs. Maybe she thought she could charm her way back inside...the headline act had not even taken the stage yet. Clearly the people who smoked her up are the culprits, and the police should have telephone numbers that can be traced. However, people who sell drugs change phones often and are pretty good about masking numbers. I'd really like to know if they are looking into these things. This girl is my own daughter's age and it would make me feel safer if they weren't so obtuse about their investigation and let us know that they were truly on top of things.

I wonder what the significance of the cell phone battery missing is. It is very odd. Was the attacker scared that the phone could be traced?

Suspicisous, That is the most ridiculous comment you could have left. How can you assume these things and go to the extent to post them about someone who is missing. You sound like a pathetic drug addict. If your daughter was missing, is this the type of post you would make about her? Have some respect. You dont know why she left the Arena. You never know someones situation...dont assume she left to do drugs just because thats what you or your daughter would have left to go do.

The time line demonstrates she was alive and left the concert area under her own power.

Now, explain the purse and cell phone with the battery removed.

There are other students that disappeared like this. Remember Brian Shaffer? How about Maura Murray, Michael Negrete, or Josh Guimond?

Did you remember any of that list? There is intense media coverage until police run out of investigation areas. Then the student drops off the media cycle.

Georgia Tech had two engineering students disappear and be found later, suicides with no previous warning. There were three Canadian engineering students missing but one was found in Texas.

I warned Virginia Tech about a little known problem after the Cho shooting. It was discovered because it caused mental breaks for office workers. They did nothing.

No school instructs students about Subliminal Distraction even though it is a normal feature in the physiology of sight. You will find it in first semester psychology under subliminal sight and peripheral vision reflexes.

If Morgan had this problem she experienced a dissociative mental break. It would have been a severe attack but with depression rather than panic. It can strike suddenly without warning. Cho on the other hand had exposure that produced a longer intense psychotic break.

Others have left suicide notes describing what their experience was. One was Mark Barton the Atlanta Day Trader shooter.

In Design it is believed to cause only a harmless temporary episode of confusion. The same episode in Qi Gong and Kundalini Yoga is believed to be caused by supernatural powers.

Remember, this problem was discovered and solved forty years ago in business offices. I have investigated it for seven years.

(suggestion found on pamrotella.com) "As I said earlier, I'd like to see everyone in Virginia look for this girl by starting on their own properties. And it's important to start with your own property because no one knows your own property like you -- where not to step, how to call your dog off, etc.

The reason for searching your OWN property? I've noticed that when a girl is abducted and meets an unfortunate end, some poor farm family often finds the body later on their property. I guess that's because the perpetrator is looking for any rural area where a house isn't directly overlooking the road, to avoid being seen. And it's often found right near the road, I assume because the longer the time spent walking into an area, the greater exposure of being caught in the act. It's often poorly thought out and hastily done. Another popular place seems to be in public parks with wooded areas. Why? Probably to avoid meeting the gun-toting owner of PRIVATE woods, and of course because woods aren't used by as many people as roads or sidewalks.

So I think it's a good idea for Virginians to search their OWN properties first. Even city-dwellers, in fact Charlottesville should be turning its city and outlying areas UPSIDE DOWN right now! Better to find her now, even if something unspeakable happened and she's already passed, so that her parents will at least know what happened and police will be able to gather whatever evidence is left. In short, it's better to check your ditches now, not later. City people, check those alleyways, dumpsters, bushes, etc. Also the workplace is a possibility, especially areas on the property that are accessible after hours.

I also said that after your own property is searched, it might be good to go to one or two of your favorite public places, like your favorite fishing spot or a tourist attraction you like such as a battlefield. Why PUBLIC? Why one of your FAVORITES? Well, partly so that you won't get lost. I don't want anyone to walk into woods they're unfamiliar with, even if it's a public park. Do you have the skills to get out of those woods after walking around for an hour? What if you meet a bear or poisonous snake? The point is, if you already have a favorite spot somewhere like that, you already know what's there and what kind of gear you need. Don't take risks on unknown territory unless you're an experienced woodsmen (as in, armed for bears, good thick boots for snakes, a compass and good navigation skills, etc.). And of course you never want to venture onto PRIVATE property without the owner's permission. Let the owner search his or her own property. I've known people who live in the middle of the woods, and they can usually walk you all over their own woods with great familiarity, they know where they can walk and what to expect.

I thought I should clarify this because I did mention "wooded areas" before, but that was in combination with favorite public places like your favorite fishing hole. Don't take a risk wandering into some huge unfamiliar patch of woods without the skills or equipment to deal with it -- leave that spot for someone else to search. And definitely bring your cell phone just in case you need help, or to report something if you find it.

I'm not discounting the possibility that she's still alive -- definitely if anyone sees someone meeting her description, call the police immediately. It's good to get as much info as you can without putting yourself in danger -- car description, license, description of people she's with, etc. But if she's being held in someone's rear shed for example, I don't know how anyone could find her unless they happened to be the perpetrator's friend or neighbor, and even then they'd probably be in great danger if they made that discovery while on the perpetrator's property. But of course if someone sees someone like her on their neighbor's property, or being transported somewhere, or course the police should be tipped off as soon as that can be safely done.

Also, I didn't mention this before, but I'm not suggesting that anyone spend a long time on such a search. Even if she's found this way, probably only one person will find her. Everyone else will come up empty, and I don't want people to feel cheated out of a whole day by following this suggestion. I just want to put forward the idea that there are more effective things people can do with their time if they're really concerned -- everyone can still pray and hope for the best, and check for the latest news on her situation. But why not also get up, walk outside, and take a look around? And don't forget to treat yourself to something afterwards -- reward yourself for being one of many citizen rescuers, even if you just treat yourself to a pizza or candy bar! And thank you from everyone who cares!"

Her last log on to MySpace was on 10/16/09..Has this activity been invesigated? Whos computer and where did she log this computer?
People who are truely leaving the earth have no need to tell anyone, or take a purse or cell phone with them. they care little about their welfare either. Usually there is absolutely NO forwarning.
However, since this is nher dads profession, I'm sure the prospect has vbeen considered. Prior patient..we don't know..once a person goes past 18, the records are sealed. She could be at Western State as inpatient and we'd never know.
I can come to these conclusions as I have teens in this situation at another major university and have delt with this situation before.
