Best of times: Putting in new plants around Downtown. “It just seems to bring a whole new life to the city.”

Worst of times: Vandalism and thefts of pots and plants. “I planted a vine and it hadn’t been in for more than 18 hours when somebody ripped it straight out.”

Strangest moment on the job: “It was probably my first week here. I was on the 250 Bypass weeding, and I had tractor-trailers whizzing within a foot of my head doing 55. I was really questioning, ‘Is this job for me?’”

If she were a superhero, she’d be: “I’d think more of a supervillian. I’d be Poison Ivy from Batman. I’d love the power to control poison ivy, as well as not getting the scratchies.”
