Charlottesville-Winneba Foundation leads a local delegation to discover the origins of slavery


One of the most emotionally powerful moments on the trip was the visit to Assin Manso—Slave River. The delegates walked barefoot on the sacred path to the site of the Last Bath, the final freshwater the enslaved stepped in before they were marched to auctions at the slave castles and put on ships.
