And since 2011, May 4 has been the unofficial day that superfans dust off their lightsabers, pull on their stormtrooper helmets and celebrate the popular franchise. At May the Fourth Be With You: A Celebration of the Music of Sci-Fi, local bands The Vailix, Iku, Book of Wyrms, Dark Matter, The Chuggernauts, DJ Wülf Boi, Personal Bandana and others memorialize their heroes from another galaxy and perform everything from hip-hop beats to saxophone solos.
